Hello, I'm after a bit of advice. I have an f30 320i with a superchips remap, which is great. But the car does not accelerate as well in 6th as it does in any other gear. It's quite noticeable. I even timed it from 50 to a higher speed and it's quicker in 7th. I've spoken to mechanics, gearbox specialists, superchips and the guys who did the remap and no one has a clue or can offer any explaination. I have even had the gearbox adaptations reset but no luck. I'm tearing my hair out on how to get this sorted. Has anyone heard of this before or have any recommendations who can help? I'm in NW. Hi, thanks, not yet because I suspect the drop in power across the other gears will make the difference in 6th unnoticeable. I only had the car a month before it got remapped but I didn't notice the issue. Superchips say it limits the torque in 1st 2nd and 3rd gears to protect various components but not 4th onwards.
So looks like the map is inhibiting in sixth as it does in lower gears, which is odd, so back to the mappers...
It could be a hangover from sixth commonly being top gear, and a sort of economy attempt, but of course you have 8, maybe they never thought there would be 8 speed boxes..... when the map was written....
