I have 4 litres of Fuchs 5w30 and 4 litres Fuchs of 5w40. For my next oil change will it be ok to mix them? I would have thought so myself but cant find any answers anywhere.

Yep, you can mix oil types.
The usual reason it is discouraged is because it assumes one type must be right, so therefore the other type has to be wrong, but there is no danger of chemical reactions etc.

As The End says, all oils will mix and any oil is better than no oil at the end of the day...

It's discouraged to ensure that the correct grade is used to ensure good lubrication/protection at all times (Hot, cold or during extended service intervals)
