This may help people wishing to fit an ipod to their bmws without forking out a fortune.
I made a ipod docking station today for my 316 compact e36,

• I ran the cable up through into the ashtray after removing the ashtray piece and lid itself.
• I then found an old ipod holder for my ipod the original nano.
• Ran the cable up through the holder so it stuck out in order so i can get to the release clips
• i then filled the hole up with isopon P40 fibreglass filler.
• Once dry i will get out there and paint it and post up some pics.
