On the off chance anyone else has had a similar experience I thought I would ask. Unlikely I suspect, but here goes...

I sheared one of the bolts refitting the inlet manifold. These are captive in the manifold housing. Is it possible to replace these or will it be easier to replace the whole manifold?

I have been able to remove the snapped bolt from engine side but the remaining bolt in the housing isn't long enough to catch so it's just spinning.

Car is 2002 320d e46 150 if that helps.

The manifold bolts tend to be made so they don't fall out. You may find that you will need to persuade it out with a little tap. As stated as you can get it you can replace just the bolt. You have sorted the hardest bit getting the snapped end out of the head.
Cheers
