Hi

This morning I had trouble opening the doors as they were covered by the ice! Having yanked on the doors, I got it open however I was just wondering if this could have been dangerous for the glass as the glass has to lower a good few mm before the door opens, but the problem is, since the glass had a lot of of ice on it, it didn't lower so I was concerned it might break. Anyone else have these concerns?

Yep - on an e63 and an old 911. I always leave the de-icer in the boot so that I can get to it without having to open the doors. I can then de-ice the bottom inch of the glass so it can drop enough to open the door to start the car.

Main concern is not so much the glass as destroying the window regulator glass mounting clips which can be a bit fragile!
