Hi guys got my 635d 2008 a couple of weeks ago.
Everything spot on but on occasions i can smell oil inside the cab.
Any ideas what this can be or has anyone experienced this before?
Is it an easy fix or not?

That usually indicates an oil leak that burns off the exhaust manifold. Quite difficult to see in the engine bay but can be detected from underneath better.....

I had this on my 635. If you look at the drivers side of the engine at the back of the air box you will see the turbo oil return pipe. They often leak from there. Also the turbo boost pipe seals perish and you can get a lot of oil from there. Another really common issue as well is the swirls flaps. The seals are poor and you get a lot of oily residue leaking down the side of the engine. Mine unfortunately had all three issues. The biggest oil leak was the swirl flaps and the entire passenger side of the engine was wet. I removed the inlet manifold and removed the swirl flaps and this cured the problem. How many miles has your car done?

Cars done just over 86000 miles. Did you replace the parts or just removed them? If so has this affected performance?

You can't replace the swirl flaps so I removed them with blanking plates. Made absolutely no difference to performance and stopped the leak from the inlet manifold and also does away with the worry of a swirl flaps failing.
