Hi all,

Just received some US spec M3 cams from a guy from ebay.com and after checking the part numbers it turns out only the intake camshaft is a genuine US M3 spec one. The exhaust cam is identical to my 328i m52 camshaft.

I was still planning to fit the intake cam but theres obviously no point in changing the exhaust cam.

What are the implications of only upgrading the intake cam?

any help would be brilliant.

get a micrometer on it and check the sizes, the part number is often for a blank casting.

what happens if it turns out it is only a 328i cam? why someone would only send an m3 inlet cam I have no idea.

US M3 cams have the same part numbers as Euro 325/328 M50/M52 cams as the end has said the only way to tell for sure is to measure it with a micrometer

Read the whole thread again...its quite likely that the cams are genuine......OP needs to measure the CAM's to be sure as anybody who buys US M3 cams will......

Would you be able to dyno the car before and after fitting those? Always wondered (and probably I'm not the only one) how much of a difference those cams make.. :thumbsup

:rofl I'd like a more viable source than the grapevine.. I've always wanted some hairy cams but never got my hands on them. Can't really trust the yankees with sending the proper ones..
