Driving along yesterday had 88 mile range. Heard gong for fuel light 49 left strange then 30 seconds later 29 gong watched that just drop to zero in seconds. Pull onto verge diesel all over engine bay it’s a 2014 f33 4 series convertible it’s gone to bmw dealer anyone had this happen ? I presume either a pipe split or loose etc looking through warranty book it appears these not coveted bought last jan my auc warranty ran out but paid for extra 2 yrs cover. This sound like a simple fix or a fortune ? Sorry for long post

Could be anything fuel related so any guess is just a guess, and really could cost pence or loadsamoney ...

However, if it's really all over the engine bay, that suggests a spray, so maybe a line under pressure, and likely to be higher than lower cost. OTOH, if it's a simple split pipe that's dropped fuel onto a fan / airstream and sprayed everywhere it could be lower cost .. take your pick!!!

Good luck ...

Thanks for input guys. Yes I’m hoping just a split pipe but still with labour £400 aside hoping that’s enough.

Not going to attempt anyway cars at dealers now going to call tomorrow make sure it turned up. Hopefully they can give a estimate when it will be back. Luckily I took extended warranty called bmw assist one call got car recovered and a courtesy car been a Citroen though as the hire firm said loads of BMW’s in garages like mine which not open so not many cars left to loan out. Fingers crossed.

I wouldn’t say all over but can see loads on subframe under engine so hopefully just a pipe
