Engine bay wash

The radiator (or maybe a rogue pipe/hose) was obviously concerned the engine bay was not clean enough for its scheduled trip into dealer to have the disks/pads on all four corners replaced tomorrow. Why it would think a look under the bonnet was pending who knows but on route to work this morning it decided a “steam clean” in that area was required. Whoever removes the under trays when it’s on the ramp is gonna get a bit wet.

Luckily I was only 1/2 mile from dealer and limped in there in a cloud of steam. The car is now left with extended (comprehensive) warranty/dealer and waiting for confirmation if it’s the radiator or some split hose in there.

Bigger of the services last week, including brake fluid and the pending brakes all round tomorrow was already a chunk of change. So it’s everything possible crossed that whatever the root cause of this mornings “cleaning” will be resolved under the £100 warranty excess 😕

On the plus side I’ve a very nice 25 plate 123i courtesy car till Monday next week while investigations proceed.

Not radiator in the end but a couple bits of pipe work (one metal one rubber I’m told). So no warranty unfortunately and cost added to tomorrow’s brake works. Shame, if it had been radiator that would’ve been covered.

Original pipe work from the day it was built so certainly done their time. Can’t really complain that much, though the wallet isn’t too happy. Get it back tomorrow so speedy turnaround.
