Hi All,

After 125k miles, 60k odd after a remap and a solid thrashing on Sunday my turbo inners have gone.

I think I avoided any motor damage but the impeller is knocked.

options as I see them:

1-Refurb replacement

2-Stock with stronger internals

3-Hybrid

A firm in Leeds say def get a stronger internal arrangement, stronger blades I reckon. Keep the same power.

Hybrid, have heard em mentioned, always seemed interesting. The Leeds guys say the hybrid and a remap would get circa 300bhp....sounds heavy for the drivetrain, anyone else got anything like this without straight piping, inter coolers and loads of cost?

Will be doing clutch and flywheel while I'm about it, it's a keeper and I want it to see 200k, can't imagine I'd get anything like the fun or style for twice what it's worth.

Any advice on upgraded clutch/flywheel set up or do u think new original parts could handle 250-300bhp. My 10 year old clutch struggles sometimes under heavy use.

Any help or thoughts appreciated.

Cheers and happy shifting

James

I ran a 330d with 270bhp to 210k miles with stock clutch flywheel, turbo etc. Still had the original turbo and flywheel when I sold it, just a new clutch at 140k!

You are right, an absolute hoot to drive, most rewarding car I ever had!
