Hi,
as above, all the clocks have stopped working! althought the digital computer still works. Is this a common fault? Does anyone know whats causing the fault, do I need a new cluster or is it something else like a relay?

First thing I would check is the fuses :thumbsup

10, 34 and 43 do the instrument cluster, also check for power(voltage) at the fuses

thanks for the reply, yeah I've checked all fuses and the connections on the back, would a multimeter check on connections be worth while?

Will be best to have the fault codes read for the cluster then. A BMW specialist or main dealer will be able to do this for you :thumbsup.

You could also try a binnacle test to see if anything moves.

Do a binnacle test, Hold down the mileage reset button with the ignition off, turn the ignition key to position 1, Wait for TEST to appear and then release reset button, watch as the binnacle does a self test.

Do gauges move?
