OK guys. After all the trouble so far I'm getting really wound up now and desperate. I still have no flow or bubbles from the bleed screw. All the hoses get hot apart from the bottom half of the rad and the bottom hose (very slightly warm and doesnt feel like there's much water in there. I can squeeze it quite easily). I have warm air in the car and have changed 'The Water Pump, Thermostat, and the AUX Water Pump' I get the odd bubble to start with when bleeding then after that the water just sits in the bleed screw hole. No bubbles are leakage. If I bleed with engine off then there is nothing at all!!

I took the RAD to a radiator specialist who tested it and he thinks it partially blocked (approx 25%) but said it should be fine! I have tried flushing it and through and back flushing it with a hose but water seems clear. To be honest the water doesn't gush out but does flow. The top water return pipe doesn't seem to have any pressure. When the car was running I pulled the hose off and it was a pathetic run for a second or 2 and then it literally dripped. This is obviously why there's nothing at the bleed screw.

I would replace the radiator if the specialist says it's partially blocked, you will never be able to bleed the cooling system properly otherwise.

hi i agree get a new radiator asap dont mess about with the cooling system as you'll be in for a shed load of trouble, my 523i had an overheating problem i spent £600 on new parts only to have the head gasket go due to too many overheats trouble is i never got to the bottom of what was causing the problem changed every part related to the cooling system ,rad,ther,therm housing,water pump,hoses,exp bottle,temp switches be warned man....cooling problem only get worse never better left untreated
