Hello! Quick question. Can I put m52b20 1998 e39 engine to my 1997 e39 what had m52b20 1997 engine? I have some kind of siemes ecu.

If they are both pre 9/98 with single vanos they are the same with MS41 ECU. Post 9/98 is with double vanos and MS42 ECU, not compatible.

You would be better of using a 2.5i or much better a 2.8i

ok, ofcourse 2.5 or 2.8 is better but then I have to change ecu or re program it. And is harder to point out problems if I get them. I putted m52b20 and it worked nice. There was no problem on change. Egine I changed is overheating so I have to still figure it out.
