I have seen a 1998 735i V8 advertised locally to me for a good price.

I dont know much about the E38's but this one is rather appealing due to the 74k with full service history and all old MOT's to back up the mileage! The thing that worries me are the parts. Are parts easy to source for this car/engine new or second hand? Also, are these engines any good? Oh and lastly..... MPG wise as I do a lot of country/town and some B roads?

Thanks in advance for any replies :thumbsup

All service parts are available. The engine - bar one or two minor issues - is bomb proof.

It's more expensive than a 3 or 5 series. If you need, for example, to undertake a complete suspension rebuild it won't be cheap. That's the downside of 7-series ownership.

Yeah engines are normally good, you will have the usual maintenance issues such as gaskets and the like. Parts are still widely available.

The e38 cars are heavy and really do wear through their suspension. Remember suspension wear is age related as well as mileage... So expect to shell out on suspension bits, shocks, springs, bushes, subframe bushes ect.
