Hi all,

My car has recently taken to running very rough when up to temperature, intermittently stalling and overheating whilst being down on power. I think I know what the problem is, but I wonder if you guys agree.

If my Lambda sensor/sensors are broken, this would cause the car to run lean and down on power. The lean burn would then cause the engine to overheat.

If this is what is happening, a new Lambda Sensor will solve all my problems?

Thanks

OK, I'll give that a go, will it throw any dodgy codes?
Also, when testing the sensor, should it read high or low resistance when running?

Thanks

You'll need a decent voltmeter, it produces a voltage around 0.2 to 0.8v.
it will however set a lambda fault code. If you haven't looked at the codes yet, that would be a good idea incase the sensor is stuck showing 0.8v-ish, which is reporting rich to the ECU and the ECU will lean it out to compensate.
