Hi guys,

I am just in the midst of a 2JZ build in my E36. I am planning to use the Getrag 420G gearbox from the E36 M3 Evo. It will be a high horsepower build of around 800 bhp. I noticed that the E36 evo gearbox has a 29mm diameter input shaft in comparison to the E46 M3 (420G) gearbox's 35mm input shaft diameter. I am wondering if this could be a weak link in the evo gearbox? Has anyone on here had some experience with a high horsepower build using the E36 M3 evo gearbox? any advice would be appreciated

Cheers

Adi

I’ve been in 2 e36 3.0i track cars using sav speed 800bhp turbo kits which still used the standard 5 speed boxes
I know they are both using the drench race gear boxes now days but these are £15,000 to buy
