Hi guy's i am looking for a the cable to connect to my car's data link connector. i believe the 3 series specially the 318IS has a 20 pin connector where can i get the cable to connect it to my laptop.

it's the Odbc i think! got it today actually. it allow's you to reset the service menu see the faults with the car that sort of stuf. why do you ask?

I ask because you need an interface unit with the cable. Back to my original question, what software are you using? Is it Carsoft?

okay, well i have the TIS, for problems with the car and the software to conect it to the car is the Oracle ODBC test!

yes except i have the TIS one one of that. you put in the vin and it brings teh car up for you. and the other piece is the Oracle odbc

Ah right! I think you have BMW's GT1 software installed. This is the interface and cable you will need. Not cheap :frown.

You still need the interface I'm afraid. When I said it's not cheap, I meant it....take a look...LINK

boy that's expensive. ill try looking around on e-bay for carsoft. i think the problem is gettin the cables.
