Hello, i own an e34 tourer, but i have a family member who owns e36 2.5 TDS, and he was looking for a bit of advice on removing the glow plugs as they are failing and wants to replace them. Will he need a special tool to remove or can he use a deep socket! Thanks

Here is a diagram showing the glow plugs (Number 5) http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=CF92&mospid=47462&btnr=12_0401&hg=12&fg=15 Please be warned the glow plugs are not easily seen from the top of the engine like the spark plugs on a petrol engine and they are a fraction of the size:thumbsup

The ones on top are not the glow plugs (if you didn't already know):rofl

I have my engine out and able to take a clear picture of their location if required:thumbsup
