Hi i have a 1995 325i. i have been working away and the battery has gone flat. upon replacing the battery on the car, my alarm fob will not work the alarm or central locking. it is a genuine bmw alarm with a genuine bmw fob, it has one button, the fob is rectangular shape with a corner cut off. I have read on a few forums about closing all doors, opening the boot lid, entering via the drivers door, closing it, switching the ignition on and off 5 times, opening and closing the drivers door, and then pressing the key fob to reprogram the alarm, (is some one having a laugh at my expense, the neighbours think i'm potty). i have also read that the alarm console is situated behind the glove box?? am i blind i cant seem to find it. any help would be greatly appreciated, my ears are ringing and the Mrs is threatening divorce.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum, great to see we have another member with a sense of humour:thumbsup

I think Boostist or Ronnie may be able to advise you further regarding the re-programming procedure but they're off line at the moment but will definately be on this evening:thumbsup

That's a Sigma T3 alarm from the SG series, I think it needs to be programmed with specialist equipment, I will look into it further for you

Confirmed, can't be programmed by yourself, needs to be main dealer or someone that has the equipment :frown
Not the answer that i wanted to hear but thanks very much for your help and your time spent researching.
Cheers Ronnie.

No problems lomaximus, tis a pity there's not a easy fix :frown, you may be lucky and find it doesn't cost much from the dealer or a alarm specialist may be able to advise you/do it for you, good luck :thumbsup.

Let us know the outcome, would be good info :)

A quick update. I stumbled accross the fact that if i disconect the car battery and place ignition key in position 2, then connect the battery, this puts the alarm in disarm mode. Not an answer to the problem but i can now start and drive the car and the central locking works with the key. I will update once i have spoken to a BMW main dealer.

Any update on this lomaximus? I have the same problem on mine. can drive and lock/unlock with the key but the remote does nothing. Also I seem to be missing the key that turns the alarm on and off on the little box under the bonnet. does anyone know if you can get replacements? Thanks, Phil

A locksmith should be able to I would think, I've picked one on a customers car before who wanted it turned off.
