Hi all,

I've recently bought a 2006 E91 320d. It was a bit knackered with coolant loss and white smoke coming from the exhaust. Given its the M47 engine, I took a risk and purchased the car, even though it was being sold as having a "broken head gasket."

Turns out it was a faulty thermometer in the EGR cooler, and an EGR delete fixed the smoke and coolant loss issue entirely.

I've been looking at places in South Yorkshire to get the DPF removed entirely, and read on this forum, that the E91 /E90 DPFs only started to be fitted from late 2007. Is this correct? Mine was registered Jan 2007. And the exhaust tip points down a little.

My question is, if possible to tell, do I even have a DPF fitted? Reg is YF56KCK.

The m47 engines don鈥檛 have DPF fitted, which is the ones with the tail pipes pointing down, you鈥檒l have the timing chain fitted to the front of the engine. They started fitting DPFs on the n47 (2007 onwards) and they have the timing chain fitted to the back
