Just thought id put this out there. After multiple issues with my E60 (N53) LCI model, over the past 4 years, I have bitten the bullet and had the car re-mapped, and coded out the NOX completely.

A rundown of the parts I've had replaced:

Guide rails - 3 years ago
HPFP - 3 years ago
MAF - 2 months ago
Coils - last week
Plugs - last week
Rocker/valve cover (some issue with diaphragm) - last week
Injectors were swapped under warranty back in 2011 (index 11)

After all this, the car still continues to rough idle in the mornings. Its always had Nox sensor issues (ageing catalyst blah blah) I never thought that would be the reason the car rough idols tbh. But having read numerous posts it seems it can contribute.

Today I decided to get the car re-mapped and remove the NOX from the ECU (Deleted/coded out)

I'm hoping this doesn't cause any long term issues, it's done just over 101k miles hence why I took the risk.

So yeh, I thought id share it. And will update if there are problems (ie cold start issues!)

Thanks.

Another alternative for remapping NOx sensor would have been Noxem emulator.

Thanks, have read about that. But as of right now, my NOX has been coded out completely.
Maybe too late a NOXEM. I'll keep my options open though, just have to see how it runs for now...
