Hi,

In my old car I liked to switch between drive on tick over and neutral when I wanted it to slow down again in slow moving traffic however in the bimmer I have to put the foot on the brakes to switch to drive, is it possible to stop this?

Don't think so it's a safety thing i think.
But thinking about it it is electronic as you can feel the slight click when you put your foot on the brake so could be possible.

why ?,,you have less braking when in neutral,,and you will use more fuel,,modern day cars do not use fuel when foot off the gas,,also sounds dangerous what you are doing..i know what you mean though,,in slow moving traffic in my manual 330d i jsut put in first and let it idle along,,,my 335d i do the same but never ever put in neytral,,unless ive completely stopped,,but i will nearly always put it in park etc,,

I purely want to be able to go from driving in automatic on tick over and when I see the traffic ahead slow down come out of drive and coast a bit to reduce the amount of Pratting about with the brakes.
