Hi, I have a 2006 32d E39 (Touring) which I love.
BUT, she has done 155,000 miles and counting. Over the past year I have: replaced the turbo ££££, replaced the sump, replaced the pump? on the power steering, changed the battery and two tyres. It's becoming unsustainable.

I have a problem, and I'm hoping for advice.

My rear drivers side window fell down. My brother (helpfully) cust the cable, pulled the window up and screwed the cable to the door. & threw away the broken internals to the door.
Now every couple of minutes I get a warning: "anti trap feature activated". It stopped for a while when I changed the battery- now its happening again.

I don't want to pay £££s, and am thinking of siliconeing the window up & undoing the screw in the wire. Would this work.

I don't care if the window doesn't work (oh & the switch is broken anyway)

Any shoestring ideas to stop the annoying beep?!

Thanks

Matt

Is it the electrical wiring that’s screwed to the door? If so I cannot fathom why he would do that.
To keep window up just cut some pieces of timber and jam them between bottom of the door and the glass to keep it wedged up.
