Well guys the time has come and the wife will be buying a z4 within a few weeks! Before anyone says she is not overly botherd about engine size (although I am pushing her towards 2.5/3.0) is there anything major to look out for? She has 11k to spend and there are loads of MINT examples there but just making sure what to look for before we go looking? Any help apreciated

Electric window regulators aren't very strong and are prone to failure (and expensive to replace) especially if someone has tried to wind the windows down when the window(s) is frosted up. If it makes any kind of creaking or juddering noise, either walk away or negotiate the cost of replacement into the deal. Beware of any with freshly lubricated (or wet) window rubbers and draught excluder's, this masks the fault by reducing the friction temporarily but it's at best a temporary fix.

Interesting write up there if a little inconsistent in places.

i.e. Bad points para 1: Rear tyres of 3.0 only last about 12k miles

Para 6: Roddy Hutchison reports: "I have owned a 3.0l manual from new

Para 10: The rear tyres were replaced at around 22K miles.

I do agree with the bit about steering following camber though
