Well was having a little look around and saw oil/soot or something around the hose that connects to the throttle body. Well I thinks its that. I've attached a pic. Is this right? I'm wondering if something loose after the EGR Recall I had done about 10 months ago?

Anyone think that small amount of oil or whatever on the charge air line could affect boost? Error 244C00. The pic in previous Post. Right hand side of front of engine if looking from the bumper. Not the red one alot of people mention on the other side.

Hi. Its ongoing. I havent had the 244C00 error for a couple of weeks but still get the slightly rough idle in the morning. When the idle is rough the Exhaust Back Pressure is very low and so is boost. Well in comparison to whats expected anyway.
I ran a few tests on ISTA and it told me to clean or replace the Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor due to the differences in pressure when foot on throttle and then when foot taken off. Apparently the difference in pressures isn't big enough. (Pic attached)
I have cleaned it but not sure made any difference.
I've just been out and disconnected the EGR. All my values seem better when its unplugged. Backpressure is a bit higher so idles better. Boost is higher and closer to expected value. Ive had the EGR off and cleaned it. It wasn't actually very dirty at all. I'm starting to think Pressure Converter. Have you got any figures from monitoring yours? Bimmertool or bimmerlink? Or maybe Torque? Would be interesting to compare.
I don't experience any loss of power and the car runs brilliant so I'm a bit confused and hoping its just a sensor. Everything is plugged in in the pics.

Just what I said above. Cleaned the EGR. That was unbelievably hard to get off. Was really siezed on. Cleaned the MAP sensor but think I might change that. Cleaned Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor. Have you got any figures for yours?

Oh, also changed the pipe from the Crankcase Breather to the inlet pipe near the intercooler. Mine was cracked. It was so brittle it literally crushed to pieces when I touched it. And I mean I touched it very lightly!

So I've made a graph of my boost figures. The boost actual (Red) and expected (White) follow the revs (Blue) but the boost doesn't reach the expected and also the boost stays but the expected drops quicker when I release the throttle.
To someone that has seen or measured these values before, its probably clear what's causing it. Would be nice if someone could chime in.

So. Changed a couple of vac lines and one of the pressure converters. The one nearest the front of the car that had the red vac line.
Couldn't get the black hose from BMW so just used red. Ill mark it so i remember.
Had a look with bimmertool and my boost goes right the way up to 3200hPa now. So I'm happy with that.
Just gonna see if the 244C00 low charge error comes back now. Hopefully not.
attached a couple of pics. Probably not much use, but I couldn't find a picture anywhere of the pressure converter location on my N57D30T1.
