Successfully installed LCI Xenon Headlights into a standard 2007 E70 with Halogen lights. After a vast amount of research it was apparent that if you had xenon as standard it was a relatively straight forward retrofit.
First of All you will need to source all of the parts from a popular auction site. This can be expensive and time consuming, the headlights are cheap but the components are the highest cost.

Left headlight x1 (7221893)
Right headlight x1 (7221894)
DRL LED Module x4 (63117263051 or 1305715084)
DRL Controller x2 (1307329302 or 130732930201 or 7263052)
D1S Xenon Bulb x2 (Any D1S bulb I went for 6000k)
Xenon Ballast x2 (63117237647 or 7237647)
Xenon Light Switch LCM (9134726)
FRM3 (anything newer than 04/11 I went for 9263790 which was an FRM3R E70 XE dated 13-01-12, The E70 XE is for Xenon with Foglights without AHL)

The new headlights will need slight modification of the wiring pins to match the car loom:
Pin 2 (Xenon Earth -) needs to be attached to Pin 4 (Common Earth -)
Pin 5 (High Beam +) needs to be moved to Pin 6

Now test the components with a 12V source:
Xenon Pin 3(+) & Pin 4(-) should operate the main Xenon
DRL Pin 1(+) & Pin 4(-) should light the Halos
High Beam Pin 6(+) & Pin 4(-) should move the shutter
If these all work we are ready for the fitting part. I tested them at this point and plugged them into the car and apart from the angel eyes flickering each part worked as expected.

Now time to replace the Light switch and remove the FRM2. There are 3 plugs on the FRM and we need to move a few pins from the Grey and Black plugs on the side.
I tested the wiring with the FRM removed to identify the wire colours and this is the same job for all BMW’s .
1) GREY plug X14261 Remove Black/Blue (Left DRL) Wire Pin 50 move to Pin 41
2) GREY plug X14261 Remove White/Green (Left High Beam)Pin 37 then solder this to the White/Blue wire from the black plug Pin 41
3) Black Plug X14260 Remove White/Blue (Right High Beam) Pin 41 then solder to White/Green wire above.
4) The White/Green & White/Blue (High Beam) wires are now connected to Black plug X14260 Pin 41 with a new link wire from BMW (Pt no 61130006663)
5) Finally Black PlugX14260 Remove Black/Green (Right DRL) Pin 8 move to Pin 14

I now fitted the FRM3 and started coding. This was not easy for me as I needed to use WINKFP to change the VIN but I could not get it working properly.
Instead I used NCS expert to add VO $522 and then you FA/Write to CAS and SG-Coederien to the CAS.
I was really lucky as my car is a 7 seater and has auto levelling as standard so all my FRM3 automatically works perfectly, although I do plan on changing the VIN if I ever get WINKFP working in the future.

Apologies if this is slightly confusing as I didn’t take any photo’s but it may save you a few weeks searching on Google.

Finally the retrofit is finished. I bought my coding cable from Cable-Shack about 2 years ago and I emailed them and they helped by sending me a link to the latest SP Daten E70 files.

I completed the winffp install and it coded the FRM3. Firstly the winkfp did not change the VIN so I ended up trying for a while with tool32 in the end when I was using ncs expert to code the VO to the FRM it allowed me to enter the vin and it accepted the changes. The final moment of bravery was to code the module with a blank .MAN file and everything worked perfectly.

Good luck if you decide to give this a try the results are worth the effort.

If you already have Xenon then the retrofit is easier as there is no wiring modifications to do and the items highlighted below are transferable from your xenon lights'

Left headlight x1 (7221893)
Right headlight x1 (7221894)
DRL LED Module x4 (63117263051 or 1305715084)
DRL Controller x2 (1307329302 or 130732930201 or 7263052)
D1S Xenon Bulb x2 (Any D1S bulb I went for 6000k)
Xenon Ballast x2 (63117237647 or 7237647)

Xenon Light Switch LCM (9134726)(The one without the manual height adjustment)

FRM3 (anything newer than 04/11 I went for 9263790 which was an FRM3R E70 XE dated 13-01-12, The E70 XE is for Xenon with Foglights without AHL)

Hope this helps
