Brought this beautiful e46 316ti for £500 as a project car. It is smoking alot when on Idle at traffic lights. Possible valve stem seals? If so can anyone help with advice on putting a 2.5 or 3.0L engine in? Don't want to scrap the car

Agree with the above post, you can get a 330i with a decent engine and rusty body or MOT fail for less than £500 that will have all the parts you need to do the conversion. Best value and easiest way.
