Hello,
On my '91 850 I would like to know what level I should top up fluid tank to.
I've looked up on diagrams but none seem to be a good match for my car,
I've had a leak of fluid from oil cooler pipe. Now I've tightened up connection with additional jubilee clip it leaks from top cover of tank.
This, I guess, is from pressure of "bomb" getting rid of too much fluid.
I drained fluid and left it about 5mm above base of wire gauze. Turning engine, level now is somewhere below wire gauze.
Should I add more fluid, or leave as is - about at bottom of spring in tank?

Thanks for any response

The power steering/brake assist ressy level should be 20mm below the top of the tank.
You must pump the brake pedal up to 20 times first to exhaust the bomb pressue as the level will rise as the bomb exhausts.
Use the correct fluid, it should be stamped on the tank lid. CHF11S or CHF7

Thanks for reply,
I've hardly used the car for last year or so, and think I might have topped up fluid in reservoir without thinking much about it.
I drained about 2/3 coffee cup out, not sure in mls.
Anyway, fluid now 20mm below tank top, and hopefully no more leaks.
