take it out and firt again,they are quite fiddly the filters to fit,the whole plastic housing has to fit snug..

 

Tried a second air filter, and reseated it twice but surely that wouldn't cause the air flow to double ?

 

I would say that’s had a poor remap to give behaviour like that

 

Do you know how much it is to get the software updated from BMW? I use the car 50 miles a day to get to n from work, I'm 29 in a week and couldn't care less about how fast I accelerate as long as I still get up to speed lol

 

So theirs a slight update, when the issue is present the egr control value % is -14, and the egr target value is -10%.i read on another forum someone had this same issue and error when the coolant hit 60c. They said they changed the air filter and it fixed it? I've tried that one. Just revved it in park as the issue was there at 66c coolant temp, and the air intake when back to normal and the EGR is functioning.

Another update; lambda sensor (from LSU) 0 read 4.x and lambda sensor (from LSU) 1 reads a constant 0. Any ideas? No errors to the lambda sensors.

 

ive had a remap where more fuel was being added at the top end,so air would need to match it etc,i had it data logged, with ista while driving from an indy specialist,then sent to jason at bwchiptune,he diagnosed to much fuel etc etc,would go into limp mode at 130 mph with foot flat to the board,,ps it was a map from jason which he got a touch wrong,but instead,like many tuners who would fob you off,recognised and fixed..

 

I see, I never got it tuned I bought it like it. I've got it booked with BMW to do software updates to the ECU, I'll keep everyone posted

 

Another update: the egr seems to cut out and only read 550mv. Along with -14% on the egr control value and -10% on the egr target position

 

As said above could all be down to a bad map.
