ok first off hi guys.

heres the story, i bought a 94 316i from a guy for 100 euro, engine had a cracked head but the body and interior is perfect. have put a second hand engine into it. problem being the only engine i could get my hands on was a 1.8 and the original is a 1.6. i have the engine in and all plumbed up only problem is that once i fire it up i have to keep the revs up high because it just will not idle. anyone got any ideas. has anyone done this job before and can someone please tell me i dont need to match the ecu and wiring harness???

thanks for any help.

You need to trace all of the air pipes and ensure none are split/disconnected and leaking:thumbsup

You did change the ECU over too... right??? If not then forget the above and replace the ECU first:thumbsup
