Hi Im Linkie just changed back from Mercedes to the 3 series 320i, 2010 this is a Japanese import with everything UK style except the head unit, which shows Japanese maps etc ,fortunately txt in English, hope to get some advice from this forum on how to reprogram or even fit a UK head unit.

Do you have Pro-Nav (large screen) or business nav (small screen)?

Pro-nav is stored on the hard drive
Isn't business nav on a dvd? maybe in the boot?

Nothing in the boot at all, the screen size is 8.8 inch, I have a 3 disc set of 2014 UK road map but disc player is just CD not DVD, now trying to convert the discs on to a flash drive so that I can download through the slot in the glove compartment, it's strange that everything in this BMW is Identical to the UK model except the Head unit, even the wiring is the same except there are an extra two wires in this Japanese model head unit and can't figure out what they are for,Im sure there must be a way of either reprogram or exchange the unit for a UK one, yet most of the BMW specialist say they cannot do it for one reason or another, never a defeatist someone somewhere will figure a way.

If you have the 8.8" screen then you have Pronav
There is a hard drive hidden behind the lower panel in your dash (you can also rip music to it every time you put a disc in)

Can't help with the update procedure sorry but would be interested if it's a simple job

Took the unit out, gosh compared to the UK unit this Japanese import has two extra leads, one Grey and one extra black slot, so without doubt the UK unit will not fit this one, although the code on the reverse of the unit are pretty similar, looks as though I will have to use a mobile Sat Nav unit, any other ideas would be appreciated
