Hi all. First post here and looking for some advice if possible.

Bought a 2015 216d M Sport Gran Tourer from an independant garage a month ago and for the last 2 weeks it has been in various garages under warranty for an issue that I found when I had a major service done as soon as I bought it. Basically, the car starts fine, but when the engine is cold, it is very lumpy on idle to the point where you are shaking sat in the driver seat. Once the engine has warmed after 5-10 mins of driving it is fine and it idles normally. When they read the codes it was displaying the following: Smooth - Running Regulator, Cylinder 1/2/3: Correction Quantity outside permitted range. Also Cylinder 1/2 misfire. It was suspected that it was the fuel injectors, so off it went to a BMW indy specialist and all 3 injectors were sent off for testing and all 3 came back absolutely fine. At this point, it has gone to BMW dealership for them to diagnose. They had it for 6 days and said they suspect it was injectors until we told them that they'd already been checked. They then tried to remove the glow plugs to do a compression test and plugs 2 and 3 are both seized solid and can't be removed. It's now being booked in at another garage to try and remove them and do a compression test, but this is dragging on and on now.

Do any of you clever folk have any idea what this could be? Could it just be glow plugs at fault? Are there any sensors that could be causing this? I'm at the point now where I'm considering just handing the thing back and getting my money back tbh.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry can't help much.
Never worked on the new 3 pot job as retired now but the glow plug problem when changing is still the same.
Glow-plugs i don't think they would cause your problem run lumpy for 2 or 3 seconds yes but not 10 minutes.
Will keep my eye on this post and i go to my m8's garage on a Saturday morning for a brew and a natter i will ask them if they have had this problem.

Thanks. That's appreciated. They have now changed a sensor (not been told which yet but I assume the MAF) but the problem still remains. They are apparently now thinking that it is the timing chain so they are in the process of replacing that.
