Hi all,

So to start with I have to say I know I'm an idiot. I've had my beloved BMW in the garage for nearly a year without turning it over. I went to start it up last week, and no surprise the battery was dead flat. I charged it up and ran the repair cycle on it.

Now the car will light up with the ignition, I can hear the fuel pump kick in, the car will crank but is not starting.

I purchased an OBD2 scanner, which will have power when connected, but can't link to the car.

I've tried checking he usual fuses with no luck. Does anyone have any ideas for next steps before I bite the dust and take out a new mortgage for a mechanic to come out and see it?

Thanks in advance.

Most likely lost DDE-EWS sync caused by voltage drop on previous starting attempt. (Will crank but not allow fuel injection.) Can be easily sorted with proper diagnostics like DIS or ISTA.

Thanks Clavurion, I will try and find a better diagnostic set up! Would you suggest something like a K+DCAN cable with Rheingold software?
