Hi all
I'm new to BMW's and recently brought a 320d SE 58 plate. However, I got the red car simbol in the dash board. Anyway, to cut a long story short. Today my car was serviced at my local BMW dealer (Bury St Edmunds) The service was £271.41 which I didnt think was to bad. This included the oil and filter, micro filter and brake fluid change. My question is if anyone can help. They have put BULK Castrol SLX in the engine. I have looked this up on the net but im totally confused:confused is this a good brand? is it long life? is this right for the car? Also, what is a micro filter?

Bulk means they were filling from a drum full of SLX. Btw, this has been replaced by Edge and I think the SLX is Longlife LL01. Probably ok but I would have gone with LL04 in an E90 personally. Micro filter/pollen filter is what stops dirt and other debris coming into the cabin. Charcoal based ones are supposed to stop smells from the outside as well.
