Hi all.
Recently just purchased a e90 320i 2007 and seem to be having an issue.
the car is fine but when I do a drive for about an hour I get the engine light come up and it goes into limp mode once I turn the car off then back on within a minute.
the codes I’m getting is (Cheap Amazon OBD reader)
P1062
P1050
However if I leave the car turned off for 20ish minutes and turn it back on limp mode goes off and I can clear the engine code and it drives just like normal?
this doesn’t happen on short journeys.
Has anyone else had this issue before?

Giving the 2 x Cam sensors and the vanos solenoids a clean would be my starting point. Also look for oil in the electrical connectors. If there is oil that would suggest o rings are goosed and along with the cleaning the cheapest starting point.

Probably oil all over the sensors . There is one next to the oil filling cap if you take off the first engine cover. I'd check that first, but you could be looking at valve cover gasket replacement, and I dont mean just the big square one, you need all of them. (y)
