Hello all,

I have just bought a 2007 318i SE, the car has only 25K and a full BMW service history. I have noticed that when starting the engine after an overnight stop there is a tappet type rattle from the engine that lasts for about 2 seconds max and then dissapears. Is this a normal condition for this engine type or is it something that needs attention. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

TBH, my own E91 330 MSport sometimes does this on start-up. It's a tappet rattle and "normal"...:frown
