Hi guys,

I'm wanting to get the MSport bumpers/skirts fitted to my 2006 335d coupe (SE), and have been quoted a very good price from BMW MStyle in Essex, painted and fitted.

My only worry is that I've never dealt with this company before, and I'm mainly concerned about the paint match. They'll be painting the parts up before I go for fitting, but how will they ensure a 100% paint match to my 2006 (black sapphire)?

Has anyone any experience of their painting expertise?

Any advice appreciated

Bodyshops are the best in matching paintwork rather than DIY. Sometimes, you can even order the parts already painted from the dealer when quoting your VIN to them.

Well, the seller said they'd paint the parts before I got to them, but surely that will mean he won't be able to match, as my car is 2 1/2 years old so he'd need the car there so he can match the bodywork. So, that's not given me much confidence.

I think I'm going to get them painted and fitted at BMW, it'll cost me an extra £400 but at least I should be assured of a perfect match and the best quality paint/fit etc...

Ive heard good things about Mstyle but i would prefer a body shop to do the job. Like its been said least the colour would be correct :thumbsup

Mstyle reckon they've got a bodyshop, but the seller does everything inc. sell/fit so I can't help but think it won't be a 100% paint job?

I've just totted up again...it'll save me a few hundred by using MStyle so it would be great, I just don't see how they can perfectly match to my car without seeing it (he said he'll paint up the parts before I go down), and also without knowing much about them I don't know the quality of the paint and/or paint job...

Does anyone know of anyone on these forums that's had a bodykit painted by MStyle? I'm tempted to just risk it as they seem to be a good company, and I'll be saving a few hundred pounds, but wouldn't mind hearing from someone who's had experience with them before...

How far away from them are you? It would be worth driving down to them first to get them to match the colour before they do the paintwork :thumbsup
Like i said, they seem to be very highly regarded but have a word with them again as its a lot of money to part with. :cool

Unfortunately, it's a 3 1/2 hour journey each way! Which is part of the problem...I'm thinking of asking them to just paint up a side skirt first, and getting them to send me it so I can inspect before they do they rest of the kit. They said they'll just get my paint code from BMW and then it "should" be a perfect match...

Trust me, in my opinion don't bother with mstyle.. They have a bodyshop but they're work is so inconsistent that you would probably have to go back about 5 times before they actually get it right!! They're just good at selling stuff, which is why they got you thinking to travel 3 1/2 hours for shabby workmanship, when you can go direct to BMW for a little bit more and not have to worry about a possible poor finish's etc.

Oh and don't forget, In my opinion Mstyle cut corners where they can.

buy the kit then get a local bodyshop to fit and paint, the safest way imho!

agree with mark..bodyshops the way too go..any inconsistences in the kit can be trimmed or filled etc by profesionals..ive dealt with mstyle before..just bought a few things and the guys were great too be honest..also had no problems wotsoever when returning something:thumbsup..but leave your car in the hands off a good bodyshop..you WILL see the difference:cool

I work everyday with a bodyshop as i use them for my business.

Agree with the previous posts, you should get a body shop to do it. The parts from mstyle will be a different colour in certain lights of the sun as you can never get a exact colour match, get a body shop to do it properly and they should blow in the other panels aswel so it blends in with the current paint. :thumbsup
