Ive noticed over the last week or so i high pitch whine that matches the revs, i.e the more revs the louder the whine and the more high pitch, seems to be worse at around 1800rpm.

The car is a 2006 320d with 80K on the clock.

Its not the end of the world, but i obviously notice it more at low speeds and its irritating me!

Could it be a belt-tensioner or similar??

Any ideas appreciated.
