What bothers me is wires showing everywhere.

I'd retrofit BMW sensors but it is not likely to be cheap.

Any idea off the top of your head how much the retro fit sensors might be??

So would have to get them fitted myself, correct??

Forgive me (noob) but how does the 'coding' work, and who would then do that for me?

Thanks again.

You can get the dealer to retrofit because they need to do the coding. From memory, you need wiring looms fitted as it is not pre-wired.

Just had this quote from Vines BMW Dealership....

The cost to supply and fit rear parking sensors to your BMW 320d will be:

£1440 (Parts: £715, Labour: 5 hours @ £725)

The total for fitting both front and rear PDC: £2293 (Parts: £1278, Labour: 7 hours @ £1015)

All prices inc VAT

:jaw-dropping

Surely its cheaper to have the 'reverse' gear removed!!!!! lol

Actually, I made a mistake of not including the sensors at £117 each :jaw-dropping...see HERE. 5 hrs seems a little bit too much in terms of fitting :shifty:...but that could be coding time included as well :frown. The front sounds a bit excessive...wonder if it's a new bumber trim they are fitting as well?...:frown. Would have been cheaper to have got it when spec'ing the car up. Think I paid something like £300 for the front when I bought the 1 Series...rears were standard on an SE spec.

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is of any help but back in my Volvo V40 T4 days (be nice...) I followed a really useful thread on parking sensors....but clearly was focused on fitting to that model of car. Anyhow....here is the link....hopefully it doesn't break any forum rules as it points to another forum....

Cheers,
Andy
