have a 520i 04 plate and the engine man light cane on...bmw said ok to drive if i take it easy,,,does anybody have any ideas what would have caused it?

On a serious note...there are numerous faults that can bring the EML on. Best get it to the dealers and have them read the codes :thumbsup.

thanks but got a shock when it came on and the car started running very bad,,its was like it was fireing short...just want to put my mind at rest...its in the dealers now

Ok, my guess would be an air leak...then again, ignition coil...or maybe fuel rail...see? Endless list :hihi
