great indy BMW specialist i must say:sarcastic

its called a jet pump or syphon pump its job is to pump fuel bewtween the 2 halves it has no moving parts it works on the venturi suction effect, when it fails you run out of fuel with a quarter still showing on the gauge.ive seen it numerous times its in the tank on the passenger side with the level switch assembly, looks like a ball point pen on the drawing by the level switch..

the hoses pop off it sometimes in the tank itself etc, yal have to pull it out and check the hosework to it..
