I am considering an E60 5-series, probably a 530d. One of my considerations is whether I can fit my mountain bike in the boot (with wheels off). I know that the boot in these models is pretty limited by the wheel arches...

I was wondering if some kind soul would take a couple of measurements for me:

Reuben, the other option for you is to find a E60 model with split rear folding seats...yes, they do them :thumbsup

Yeah - I heard about the folding seats - is this quite rare in these models? I guess not many people chose it as an option.

Your pic is up anyway :thumbsup. As you say, it is rare unless you buy from brand new and add the option yourself. I was quite lucky to have it with my 3 Series

I suppose it depends on the hight of the 'hole' through to the rear seat area as to how useful the folding seats would be. But certainly it would be far more useful than not folding at all...

Yep - thanks David! I think its going to be tight getting my bike in it, but it might just go looking at the numbers. I think the only way to be 100% sure is to clean up the bike and take it to a friendly dealer.
