Could anyone please tell me how the genuine BMW E60 roof bars fit on the car?
BMW say they fit to the gutter.

Everyone else i have spoken to say they clamp around top of the door then the door closes on them???

I find it hard to believe they would clamp around tops of door like non genuine bars,when the older e39 bars had fixing points on the gutter.

do they not clamp usingh the gutter and the top of the door frame as clamping points? that can make it look lik eth edoor close on them, but it doesnt as such

Not sure,it looks like it.
When i had some none genuine bars for my e39 the door seal bent around it causing wind noise,which puts me off them.

May as well save some money and get the £15 adaptor kit for my Paddy Hopkirk bars.
