bmw whitehouse saying 200 pound for software update i thought it was free any advise no warrenty left

Nothing's free with them I'm afraid. However, if you were in warranty and there was a glitch, then then I believe that would be covered with a re-program. So, what is wrong with the car? Or is it just a plain update you want :confused

car has pasanger and driver restraint system faliure driver airbag needs replacing and it allways poping out of gear getting a new gear selector switch tomorow so hopefully thatle sort out the gears i was cleaning my car one day an i noticed that both driver and passanger seat had a plug not pluged in the bottom rear of the seat so i hope now i pluged it in all it needs is a update to clear the faults coming up on i drive

Well, that's more to do with faults cleared instead of reprogram. See if you can get that done instead, unless that is the price you were quoted :confused. If that is the case, go to a independent specialist instead :thumbsup.
