Sounds like a cross between a hiss and something squirting whenever I hit the brakes....any idea what it is (on a 545i)?

Have you checked the brake fluid reservoir for fluid level:thumbsup

No, feels perfectly normal to me, extremely powerful. Maybe its a servo or something, only noticed it recently with the windows down.

Not something I've heard beforeso can't comment properly on it, all I can suggest is get a friend to press the brake pedal while you trace the area of the noise.

More than poss brake pad sensors they wear down with brake pads and there are modified ones to make less or no noise. They can be vey noisey at times.
