Hi, new to the forums and thinking of getting a 330d around 2004 age, probably saloon. My question is;

Can you upgrade the business cd/changer for a Sat Nav TV Changer unit. If possible can it only be done through a BMW dealer or can a specialist do it cheaper? If I was lucky enough to find a second hand one would all the looms be in place for it or would I be faced with spaghetti?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also one I was looking at had a replacement autobox at 100k, is this common, and if done by a dealer with warranty should I be wary at all?

On these 330d's is mileage a big no no, or are they rock solid engines?

Can be done but monster job, need nav computer, loom, gps aerial and loom, tv and few other parts. Tom tom's/Garmins are better than bmw systems anyway.

absolutely! the garmin and tom tom stuff is far superior to the bmw pro sat nav. Get the wider version if you can. Just a pin to take it with you / hide it every time you park up. Red

Three nil. Aftermarket is better than BMW any day. Wife's £150 Garmin makes my profnav look like a Chad Valley effort.

Must admit very latest bmw nav system with 08/02 map are spot on as in mine and have post code input, older ones are crap to say the least. Also got new tomtom with live TMC cost £270 and is briliant.

hey shaft i have the latest 08 02 official dvd from dealer too on an e60 2005

i can never get my home pcode to enter nor any other full one for that matter

Is my software out of date or something? On the i series i mean. Cheers! Red
