Hi peeps,

I've changed the airbags and seat belt tensioner plus the battery cable module on my crashed e46 but cannot seem to find the ecu module :confused Can anyone point me towards its location!

It's under driver's seat behind the carpet iirc.

Yes it is...also, it is a carpet cut as well :frown...unless there is a way round.

Its not under the seat neil, I've pulled the seat out and looked everywhere under the carpet but not box in sight!

Found it this afternoon, but thanks to you both. Anyone any thoughts on the link from e-bay with regard to the re-setting of the module? My car is a march 2004 and from some reading it appears that i may have the later module which needs to be re-set a different way!!

Did you find the crash module as well? I think that will need re-programming as well...especially when it set off the cut off switch from the battery.

I found the one near the handbrake, Is that the one that needs resetting?

Yes, that's the SRS pointed out by gildersol. Did the airbags go off?

Yes the drivers bag/seat tensioner and the bst thingy on the battery
cable activated.

Can you give me the module part number? I will see if the crash sensor is built in. If so, then the crash codes need to be cleared.

Neil, I've haven't removed it from the car as yet (just looked) I'll get the numbers tomorrow and come back to you.

In that case I think there is only 1 module incorporating crash sensor, but NealP will suss it I'm sure:thumbsup

Yes Jay, that confirms the module connecting to the crash sensors...so you need to get the codes cleared :thumbsup

Cheers buddy, Just need to find someone that can do it now! The guy on e-bay says he cannot reset this module with this part number.

Also looked at some of the scan/reset tools and they also state upto 2003 only.. looks like a dealer job then!
