Hi

Ive just purchased my first bmw and was wondering what the fuel consumption should be?? At the moment driving carefully the computer mpg is showing 33.8mpg. Is this correct?? Also at about 2000 rpm it has a slight flutter with little throttle???

hope someone can advise?

Cheers
Nick

your consumption will depend on throttle use, average speeds and many other factors.
33.8mpg would be a little low if your doing 70mph on a long motorway stretch, but a handsome figure in urban driving

Yeh second that. What kind of driving town, motorway mixed? What's your temperature guage doing?
And do a brim to brim test the OBC can be a fair way out. :thumbsup

Cheers for the replies,,mainly urban driving. Temp gauge is just below middle, that does move around a bit.....

your temp guage shouldn't move from the 12 o' clock position once the car has warmed up. I would check your MAF & thermostat!
mainly urban driving = winner!

Yeh temperature guage should get to 12 o'clock (straight up) in 6-8 minutes of gentle driving and stay there.
Think your car will have two termostats best replace both.
The car will be over fuelling to warm its self up all the time hence poor mpg.
