Hi,
Stange one: went into my car today at lunchtime and tried to lock it as normal by the remote central locking on the key and it wouldn't lock the car. I put the key into the lock and locked the car manually. This led me to beleive the battery in the key was flat. After finishing work tonight remote central locking still not opening the car but when I switched the engine on the drivers door open warning light was on in the dash. I opened the door several times but still displayed the door was open. When I got home tried the spare key but still no joy.

Anyone any ideas?

some one should come on who knows more but i think there is switch in the door
that can play up i am sure there is a write some where.

Well, the driver door lock assembly has the sensors which detect the door being open. These can fail, as has yours. As the GM module is being told that the drivers door is open, it wil not allow the doors to be locked.

These are sensors, not mechanical switches. So the only way is to replace the drivers door lock actuator.
