Hi Folks

As above i have a small oil weep coming from the inlet cam sensor

I have purchased an o ring from BMW

Anyone done one of these before ?

Yes, just undo the torx holding it in place and remove the sensor with plenty of wiggling. It can be a P.I.T.A to refit the sensor with a new o-ring (put a smear of vaseline or lithium grease on it) but take your time and make sure it's firmly pushed home. Don't try and use the torx to drive the sensor back all the way 'home' as the sensor is only plastic and is likely to snap.

IIRC it's a 5mm hex bolt, I found it easier to remove the vanos solenoid as it frees up some space but it may be possible without. Apparently the bolt is a one time use (part number: 13627545338) but I just cleaned the threads and applied some blue loctite and it hasn't leaked. As above don't over tighten, Only something like 5nm.

As far as I know a doddle. Unplug the connector, unscrew the solenoid body and that's it. I'd prepare for a bit of oil spillage and not sure what size spanner you need but otherwise pretty straightforward.
